I've been making them for about a year or two and selling them for $10 a set plus shipping.  I have them on several different seats I use (Tan, black, etc.)  shipping is generally about $3.50 or so.  email me if you are interested.  9 sets available

Chief has supplied the pattern in Mods & Accessories/Mods/Seats .

I made mine from a metre strip of Aluminium from the hardware store - 50mm x 3mm or 2" x 1/8".

They are not load bearing, they just hold the seat in place. Have lasted for years and 10s of Ks

For what it's worth, the brackets are the same as the ones on your dual seat (assuming you have one).  It's nice to have a second set though so that you don't have to swap them.

Exactly! I do have a set just trying to avoid the headache.
