   I got a set of "economy" clubman bars for the other Kawasaki I own, the W-650. I have been converting it into a gentleman's cafe' racer. I learned a long time ago not to do anything to a bike that can't be undone with relative ease, The next owner might not like your idea of custom. That being said, the only thing I have done to the W that can't be easily changed back is the rear fender. Mine was not perfect, as it has a dent in it. I have read that the W sometimes has a problem with the fender cracking near the center of the radius. A dent is less of a problem than cracking so I bought a pretty nice BSA Thunderbolt rear fender stay and put it on. The fender is quite solid now, but I did have to drill 2 holes in it. I put the clubman bars on yesterday, and took it out for a shakedown today. The low bars change the whole feel of the machine, I'm pretty happy with them, but I will have to tweak the height, etc. to my liking. Put a pair of 3" convex bar end mirrors on and they are great.  The "matchless" decals on the tank are a salute to the machine's heritage, as well as another way to confuse the uninitiated. The shot I chose to post shows the Mississippi at about 13' (a foot over flood). The area in the background is usually dry.
