Ya , I wish I could get out before May but also lots of snow here . More than normal. I have about 5 miles of gravel roads to get out of the boonies here. I have been known to trailer out my bike and unload on the side of the road and go for a spin. Got tired of that and bought a v-strom. All plastic and dark( No chrome) so is a joy to ride through the mud and snow.
The chromed out Virago and the Drifter show bike will have to wait.

      Tfrank59 if rob f is like me May is a good guess as to the time frame to get out fr a ride, there is still over 4 ft of snow on the ground, I see no hope of it melting that fast off the ground to get the bikes out. Then the tons of salt and sand on the roads needs to be washed way.
rob f seems like you have done what needs doing for the most part. I am doing the valve check on Red tomorrow and then all I need to do on her is done and just button her up and she is ready to ride. Pearl has had new front springs and fork oil change, oil/ filter change, new coolant, brake fluids all changed, new chain and new sprockets done(18/38 of course) new rear shock waiting to be installed, all the powder coating is done, and more stuff which I will document........
You will like the Drifter so much and it is a lot of fun to tinker with, min you it does not need much once you get it to your satisfaction. Yes not much hoses or places for your fingers when working on the carb.
Have a safe ride once you get out to the roads.

 Have left my vn 800 that I picked up in Dec alone for most of the winter but now as the weather has warmed up I am back at it.
Getting her ready for the inaugural ride sometime soon (May?)
Have decided to give her the once over but not getting too carried away this year ,until I know if I will keep her or not. So far......... oil/ filter change, coolant change,brake fluid change, new tires, new chain with 18/38 sprockets,cable lube,emission control removal, swing arm zerk repair and grease, new plugs, fork oil change.
I am omitting front spring change, valve clearances and airbox mod/carb jetting for now.
So far, not too bad to work on, but the boys that designed the carb fitment had too much Saki that day. Holy S... not much clearance.
And yes I will send pics once I can pull her out of the sea can onto nice green grass.
