Anyone ever replaced their internal tank fuel pump? if so.................

I haven't replaced my fuel pump but somewhere here on the forum is a thread listing a much less expensive replacement.
Might be this one:

They do vary by year I believe so make sure you are comparing the correct year.

Which fuel pump did you use without any modifications? Also I know there is a very helpful page on how the replace the fuel filter http://www.vulcangadgets.com/files/ff_replacement.html,but the filter is a little bit bigger, any one else use another kind closer to the OEM?
