Possible New Source of Carburettors

Yes, it is different. The Drifter carb has a throttle position sensor (TPS) and it isn't used on any other Kawasaki. That means that the electronic box of engine management tricks is different.

I could be wrong, but don't think the sportster carp has the TPS.

We all know that the Keihin CVK36 as fitted to the Drifter is not fitted to any other Kawasaki, being unique in that it has a throttle position sensor (TPS). This has led to tales of woe because of difficulty in sourcing replacements.
Prompted to thought by a thread on FB, I had a footle around with that nice Mr. Google (quite legal in the UK these days, I'm not sure about the US) and found at least some of the Hinckley Bonnevilles use a CVK36 with a TPS.

So, unless the CVK36 used on the Bonneville is, in some unknown way, incompatible, then if you ever need a replacement carb, your local Triumph dealer might be able to help you out.
