Lower bags just look better, My 1500 has custom exhaust pipes that allow the top of my bags to sit level with the back fender. This was a must for me.

Indeed. Absolutely. When they sit ABOVE the fender they alter the bike too much dwarf the rear fender.

How did it sound with just the muffler (black) on her and not the extension?

I only heard it all put together.

I like the sound a LOT. It is not as loud as the dual fishtails was and it resembles an older Indian. So all good to my ears!

Just curious, how much did you lower the pipes by? Also I wonder what it would look like if you did the whole exhaust black or would that be too much? Always liked the look of a black out bike. (no chrome)

Okay, finally got surprises dealt with including a tank full of bad gas that left me stranded and SOL.  Here are pictures of the bike with new single lowered pipe AND new hard bags also on a lowered Bracket. Basically the PIPE now sits at the exact same place where the LOWER pipe of the OVER and UNDER set up was.  So it is NOT lower than prior lower pipe, I have just eliminated the HIGHER pipe of the previous dual pipe setup. This allowed me to have the hard bags sit lower. Right now the top of the hard bag sits just barely below the top line of the FENDER. The hard bag on the bracket (as it came) sat way above the FENDER which looked awful. But now this has all been worked out. I am happy and the half black and half chrome on the pipes looks fine to me because the "break" in color occurs right along with the black bags! See pics:

Zoar - Very nice and all it needs to be. You will certainly be able to get those bags on now.

Hard to see the details, but the second "medium" photo is the best. Is it all welded or does it come apart just ahead of the muffler and or behind the muffler?
Nice down pipe fabrication with shields.  (Assume the down pipes are new because I thought your original set up was one pipe on top of the other.

So you either go from one on top of the other into one, which keeps the exhaust high or the way you did it, which lowers the pipes into a nice straight line.

I like it, and at a reasonable price.  The size of the tip after the muffler dictates the sound (bigger = lower pitch). So that's the only variable and if you like the sound....you've won.

Again, nice solution. Now let's see those bags.

Yes I will send pictures. I Put the ONE bag on and even though I put it as LOW as I could with the mounts provided it still say WAY TOO HIGH. So I am having the loacl welder guy modify brackets so the bag sits LOWER. I will post AFTER he does his work.

1) A QUICKER BIKE!
2) A sound prefer and it is not so LOUD!
3) No more BACK FIRES! BOOM BOOMS NO MORE!
4) I can fit HARD BAGS on the bike now
5) It looks more like a 1939 motorcycle

.......all for $300 smackers.

Okay, I bought saddlebag BRACKETS from a member here and THEN realized the hard bags would not fit because the DUAL tail pipes sat way way too high.

(Note: these dual pipes that came with the bike I actually did not like, just not my style.)

So, I took it to a local fabricator/custom exhaust guy.

Now some of you may not like the look, but to me it looks more like a 1939 Indian. It looks bad-ass.

And, the following benefits---The bike is QUICKER. The difference in exhaust back pressure has made the bike quicker AND the really annoying Back Firing that it did before is GONE! Poof!

And I like the sound better. It even sounds more like a 1939 Indian!!! And it is slightly less LOUD!

I win on FIVE counts:

1) Lower pipe so I can fit hard bags on easily
2) The bike is noticeably is QUICKER
3) No Back firing!
4) I like the SOUND better, not as loud, too!
5) Looks more like a 1939 Motorcycle

I am ecstatic!

Now, I just need some time to attach the saddle bag brackets and get those hard bags on this bike!!!!
