Pete

I've got a list of the differences somewhere, but how they might apply to US law I wouldn't know.
I can remember a few:
The Brit 800 lacks the additional emissions controls fitted to Drifters sold in California.
The Brit drifter has a LH headlamp - I assume that you would need a new RH or neutral lamp assembly.
The US Drifters have the front (but not the rear) indicators wired as what are called "marker lights" in UK legislation. They use a two filament bulb. One filament is for flashing the indicators, the other is on all the time.
US tail/brake light bulbs are a slightly higher wattage than in the UK - a simple bulb change.

The Brit Drifters have much bigger number-plate holders. Another simple change.
The Brit tail-light assembly is slightly different - but it is cosmetic only.

I suspect that unless you are going to live in California, any changes that you might need to make are pretty simple.

Ride safe, live long and prosper.

Greetings everyone,

I am planning to return back to the States, after 25 years and I was wondering about bringing my Drifter 800 back with me. Are there much differences between the Euro and US versions?, Do I need to change a lot of components?

I'll appreciate any help...thanks
