Scoot works  currently on sale and then I'm close to $500.00 in the whole with the complete set-up    http://www.scootworks.com/shop.cgi/page=partskawsaddle.htm/SID=1255142591.23519

Most of the racks I've seen have a 10# limit, but you could go some over that without much fanfare.

Bob's bike has a rack that attaches to the saddlebag struts and sort of straddles the rear fender that way.  I've seen those around somewhere for sale, but I don't remember where right off the top of my head.  I can find a pic though: http://www.saftek.com/drifter/reviewpost/data/29/K53021-102.jpg

Just a thought: Take a look at the 'Drifters Invade Nashville' posting just above this one of yours in General Discussion.  The third picture down, 'This is Bob's Bike,' shows a parcel rack behind its single seat with a very large suitcase type bag on top of it.  Looks like it'd hold way more than 4 pounds of ribs and sauce and might be an alternative to custom designing one!

I failed at putting a rack on my bike. I succeeded at finding a shop to custom build one  ! One that will hold a 50 lbs . This will be complete in a few weeks as it is being designed from the beginning and not fitting something  else. I will offer these for sale for the solo seat  with powder coat or chrome. they will be built as ordered and can take several weeks and will cost a few hundred. There is no rack available rated over 4 lbs . none nada zero zip available. Scoot works has no rating available for what they offer.

Viola spent the week in the shop. That should make anyone with deep pockets worry and my pockets are very shallow. She had all the fluids changed out, misc adjustments ,a full safty check ( yea I forgot to mention the air horns and they failed to see them !)  ;D  a  tune up and a newer stage one kit installed, oil and lube and a new K and N air filter all for $350.00 !! I paid that  and then some just for my carbs on my Honda !! Now I'm trying to solve the back rest issue with a REAL luggage rack that will hold a tour pack using a Corbin covered kawa pan solo seat that received a padding make over. I have access to lots of "STUFF" in the back of the shop. Gonna try to fit some bracket of some kind to the saddle bag supports that come off the frame under the seat. If this is successful I will post pictures. Most in the shop find this quest laughable.
