The rifle replacement plastic I just bo :-[ught has tints and custom sizing as well. I know these will fit my existing hardware. I've heard good comment on cb's as well.

I've heard good stuff about Cee Baileys.  They do stock replacements, or you can customize the size by adding a few inches here or there.  They do tints too if you want.  I'll probably get my replacement from them.

I just bought one myself... if you want to wait a couple of weeks I can tell you more about it when it comes in. I've been planning to get one of these for a while.

Along this same topic does National cycle make a 'replacement' shield for the F&S hardware?  I have found the stock kwaker one to scratch a lot easier than NC product which I ran on my 800 for 26000 miles and looked like new. (product endorsement implied and meant).  Now my "new" 2000 1500 (the one I always wanted) needs that stocker replaced.

It depends!  The brand apparently makes a difference, whether they can be made to fit.

I don't believe F&S shields will work... although for the 800 there is some evidence they will work. At least one member has installed one on her 800. Or course some folks have done it with some modification.

I believe National Cycle and Rifle might work on the 1500.

It is best to get a shield designed for the Drifter. Go to the accessories area on the web site and select windshield... for info. National Cycle and Rifle have shields which fit the Drifter.

No its not a definitive answer, but we are still looking for proof one way or the other.
