Chief, will this help?  http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Drifter/Drifter%20Saddlebag%20Brackets/  The guest password is "Drifter".  Pic one starts with a solo setup and it ends with a 2up setup.  I can take some pics of the bolts and washers inside the bags if you want, but it's not all that exciting.  It's just a couple of holes in the bags with a couple of bolts and washers holding it on.

The loops are for support, you have to drill holes in the bags where the loops attach to the bracket. Make sure you use proper size (large) washers to distribute the load.

There are other ways to mount bags based upon the brackets used, quick removal devices etc.

I'm looking for someone to take pics of the process to post online. I don't use bags and don't have any to use for demonstration. But if anyone else has some they'd like to take apart and put back together for pics, let me know.

Cheers.

Here's another brain buster question for you Drifter geniuses...

So, last night I stayed up late and got the mounting strut and support loops installed on the bike.  I looked and looked at the back of the saddlebags though and for the life of me I can't figure out how they attach.  How do they attach?  Looking at the back there is a small metal ring (similar to a D ring) toward the bottom middle with a piece of leather tied onto it.  Do I have to drill through the leather at the top?

Please help, my first long ride is tomorrow (if it doesn't flood) and I really want these bags attached!

Does anyone have instructions on how to install saddlebags?  Pictures would be great!

1500, Two-up seat, have all hardware...I think.
