front and rear fender tips

I sanded down the Indian Head light on mine to give it more of a curved base....that definitely help mold the whole thing to the fender better...

Sorry OR_Seedman not looking closely meant to ask Trall about his experience with mounting the front fender tip from Starklite. Any feedback Trall? Simple put in place and bolt on?

Yes just use green painters tape and get it where it's fits best and mark and drill holes and bolt on.

They come in chrome   So you don't have to powder coat I did just to have things in a different color

On your Indian light I read parts of it and another option you have is just to carefully sand the plastic indian head base and that will make it fit tighter that's what I did when I installed mine

Also not needed but just to the left and right of the top area middle, I added two thin felt pads and it just seemed like a buffer from being directly metal on plastic fender.

the war bonnet front fender light I bought from another source....it almost matches the curve of the front fender....but not quite..I figured out the best way to mount it is to set the base plate where you want it and keep the bolts through the fender loose...mount the war bonnet on the base plate good and tight, then tight down the base plate to the fender....the fender will flatten out ever so slightly to match the curve....not noticeable...

When I first attached it, I made the mistake of tightening down the base plate to the fender first...then I couldn't get the chrome cover tightened down correctly...had to start all over again...including taking the front wheel back off!

the fender tips are just a bit to $$$ for me...I am not crazy about the look so no sense in spending the money on them..

Did you get the one in the link below w/ the indian head on it part #160024? (may have been covered up w/ the powder coating?). See there were others below that but they were more expensive. What was your feeling on the fitment? Did you have to adjust/bend anything into place? Or just place, mark, and screw into place?

A while back I saw a guy in NJ had some on ebay (still does) but I thought I had read somewhere that the fitment wasn't great and f and r was $250. Anyone have any experience w/ these from NJ?

Front fender tips a good place for one would be Stark Indian company out of California.

When I bought mine there a few years ago they sold about $70 for the front Indian tip.   I paid a local Powder coating pekin another 20 bucks to Powder coat.

To install one use painters tape to cover the front area of your front fender.   Fit the tip exactly where you want it then Mark your holes and install.   I added two small dime size  furniture pads in the middle left and right areas  to act like a small spacer but you can do without.

From what I read on any Rear tips.  I don't think there's one that's a perfect fit. I ended up just going with custom leather
Mud flaps.

Watch out sometimes there's a guy on eBay trying to sell the same front tip for 150 bucks that Stark Indian sells for 70.   Same thing for the rear tip is a high markup and if you look around the one he selling from a different bike that's a close fit but I forgot which one.  He doubles the mark up price so watch out.

does anyone know if the 800 and 1500 use the same fender tips? I see people selling them saying they fit both models.

The fronts are the same, not sure about the rear.
