If it fits a Fuel Injected Classic 1500, it'll fit a Drifter.  One for a Carb'd Classic 1500 is different.

Hi Guys,

I bought this setup a few months back off of ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Passing-Light-Bar-Turn-Signals-For-Kawasaki-VN-Vulcan-Classic-Nomad-Drifter-1500-/161380933064?hash=item25930d9dc8:g:rLIAAOSwI-BWF9SR&vxp=mtr

The bar fits but  it has two holes one behind the other and yes I bought real lights the ones that came with it were plastic.

I might use it and use fork mount turn signals to keep the Drifter look in the front.

Bill

Bill, glad to hear that it fits.

So Gene then I am correct in assuming the 1500 and the 800 light bars mount the same unless of course you mod them to some point.
I never paid any attention to how you big bike guys mount your spots or light bars.

Yes, I believe they are the same.

Bill, the one in the ad/pic that you posted looks to have different mounts. The one that CDNRatMan posted has the correct mounts.

Sometime ago, I was lookin' for a lightbar too and came across a nice one.
The adv. said it was for a Classic: I didn't buy it because I found a OEM bar, but I remember that I made some research on Partzilla, founding out that the stock lightbars of both the Drifter and the Classic have the same numbers.
So, I think it should be good for you.

I love my swingin' bike!

I know that everyone says the 1500 and 800 front ends are the same, but here is the stock light bar and the aftermarket ones for a 800. Notice the mounting brackets are the same.......so if you mounting brackets are the same as the one pictured it should fit....

Hi Folks,
My bike never had driving lights and I found a close match for my 1999 drifter. I have bought a knock off light bar off ebay but don't want to put my turn signals under the driving lights like a Harley.

Any idea if a VN1500 E or 1500 Nomad or Classic would fit?  There are tons on ebay in my area.

I don't want to purchase a $250 setup from National Cycle and not too keen on modding the existing since I don't have a welder or really a lot of time for modding.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bill
