Issue with Guido's engine guard

Had one of Guido's engine guards on my machine and had no interference issues.

Agree with Ratman....review your install. Had mine on and off several times...nothing touching. See photo...save and blow it up. shows the spacing.

  I just went and looked at my set up. I am going to be honest and tell you that on mine there is a very little gap between the 2. I am going to venture that you might be missing a washer, because mine bolted on with no issue, a thin nylon bushing might also work....
If you move the shifter a bit out on the pivot pin you might get slop in the shifter.

I bought Guido's engine guard and it neatly bolted in place. Even neatly moved the horn. But the thickness of the left lower bracket moved the bolt head out just enough to brush the front shifter. Did I do something wrong?  How do I fix it? Can I slightly grind down the bolt head or move the shifter out a bit on its pivot? I like the bars but can't accept any interference with the shifter.   :(
