800 Drifter, Upstate NY, Mid February!

And while I enjoyed the riding this weekend I am concerned as many growers in my area of the impact this far too warm weather will have on various crops. I understand some berry plants locally are budding already. This region is heavily dependent upon many crops for survival. Grapes, peaches, cherries, apples, pears, etc., are all major staples in this area and if they bud now and then it gets cold again and those buds die, it can wreak havoc on the local economy. It is very weird for sure.

Man, once again I do agree with you, just because over here it's the same...
And Italy hasn't got all that huge amount of crops, so it can be really a a bad matter when that madness of weather happens.

I've been riding my bike yesterday too, in a sunny and quite enough warm day.
And I still can't believe it's february, with a lot of snow in the mountains around here.
BTW, lookin' at that picture makes me think that the rear tire needs a good clean, isn't it? That's the price you must pay for putting WWW tires on...

HA! Actually I did give my whitewalls a good cleaning. They look much better than they did when I snapped that picture.

Back to the topic --- My 800 Drifter with the nice wind screen once again proved its worth because yesterday although "warm" was very windy and very gusty. It made it feel cold if you were not in the sun. Yet behind that wind screen  I was very protected. Also, in the wind and the erratic gusts, the bike held very firm and did not get booted around at all. It may not have been as solid as a 1500 might be, but at no time did I regret the 800, which is my ultimate rule. I do recall having some bikes that got so knocked around by the wind that I felt regret in riding them. Never have I felt this way about the 800.

  WWW are cleaned with a good spray of "Spray Nine" cleaner let it soak a bit then scrub with Mr. Clean Magic eraser and then rinse with warm water and you have  a glossy WW once again.

Zoar good for you to get out and ride. I still have about 6 ft in the front lawn needs to melt before I can get the bike outside....so no rush....

Drifter 800 in Upstate NY. February 19th. I rode it TODAY!  It rode like a dream too! But it wasn't a dream, it was real. It was sunny and way above 50. It felt really good too. I rode around Seneca Lake. Fantastic drive. I just had to be careful with the sand in the road that has been put down this winter. But not bad, just a little sand, enough to be weary of especially when turning across intersections etc. But this 800 is like a big fat present to myself every time I ride it and this year I got a present in MID FEBRUARY! CraZy!
