I hope all the snow we had yesterday moves east and south ........you and bambam need more snow to work on......

Sir, please do not use the words "snow" and "moving south" in the same sentence.  Here in the States we are open to importing many things, but that is not one of them.

I was trying to be delicate, and I included myself in that bunch, but I guess diplomacy is not a strong suit around here. :D

;) are you Sir calling us fat? I am not fat, my Dr. told me that I was the correct weight for my height, it is just to bad I am not 7 foot 9 inches tall......so there........I hope all the snow we had yesterday moves east and south ........you and bambam need more snow to work on......

Carriage is a vehicular term. Think of stagecoaches or sleighs, or cargo vans of dump trucks.

He may have been flattering you! The term is not necessarily negative... maybe 98% of the time but not always. Thumbs up!

Well, guys like Ratman and myself need some extra ice to withstand our extra "carriage". ;D

I'm surprised your ice isn't thick enough yet on the lake...   Customer told Friday he's already been is fishing and was going again that night.  Ice was already 3" and expected to be 4". Of course that was on Indian Lake, which is really shallow.

We have a full week of snow in the forecast and right now outside it is a balmy -2*F but because I live just above the lake the and on a hill that phoney wind chill makes a huge difference when the wind is off the lake it shows the temps at  -19*F . If you are outside the wind it is ok, but stand out in the wind for a few moments.......soon the ice will be thick enough and the lake will be safe......

We got another 7" of snow yesterday, to bring the weeks total to 16"....now the temps have dropped from the single digits above to -15°...that's actual air temp, not that phoney wind chill number! I'm not even going to try to go anywhere, today until it "warms up" to the afternoon "high" of -2...I had to work yesterday starting at 04:00 to 17:30. Got pretty greasy out there. Saw one crash and several cars ditch driving between 04:15 and 05:30..Police were really busy!

When I saw the title to this thread, I had to respond because I am someone that hate winter with a passion!

A few nights ago, it was -20+ degrees (thankfully our wood furnace negates that!), today it warmed up to almost 40 but is expected to drop to -10+ so we'll have an icy mess.

I took this picture yesterday; so much for using our front door for the rest of the season.  I just hope and pray that all this man-made global warming BS will someday, actually make it up our way because every year it seems to get just a bit colder and snowier and I get crankier.  Counting the days till riding season again!

The Diet is because it is "sugar free" and being a diabetic I cannot drink regular pop. Now you are sounding like the server at a restaurant I was at one day, I stopped at a McDonald's on Highway 401, and I knew in my mind I had a 6 hour drive home, it was late in the day and I knew that there was not going to be anything open once I turn off the main roads, and it the roads needed to get home, so I bought a quarter pounder, and a asked for 20 nuggets and a large fries......then the server got his smart mouth going when I asked for a "Diet" coke, Well needless to say he and the rest of the place got an earful about being a diabetic, and not being on a diet......lol...I think the only reason I got all my food for free was the manager was really embarrassed.
So Old Drifter before you say anything bad about my drink try it......

Now if you are wondering about the sugar in the rum....well it is natural and so it has to be good for you and it is not added to the rum, and rum also has formaldehyde in it which is used to embalmed bodies so I am doing the right thing and getting ready for that day.........lol

Sounds like you're doing you're part with the snow removal. Now about those refresments...doesn't the Captain Morgan Spiced Rum cancel out the "Diet" Dr. Pepper?  :o

well I cleared the driveways I feel responsible for, cleared the rear deck, and that was before noon, and it is still snowing, if you look outside right now you would never know I did the driveway, but the good news it is moving east and south a bit, leaving here. Tonight will be a nice night for hockey game and chilli and buns than hot tub and hockey game later........Diet Dr. Pepper and Capt Morgan spiced Rum with lots of ice while in the tub and just let the heat sooth my sore body.....lol......now if I had a nice wood fire pizza to go with that.........wonder what the delivery charge would be worth.......

No need to sit out the winter.

What's up with the chain? It looks like it has a derailleur on it.

You just need one of those fat-tire bikes, and you can put on your snow-mobile suit, and go ride it to the Pine Hill coffee shop ;D

I have a mountain bike that I put really knobby tires on and sometimes I take it out in the snow. It is a Blast!

Here you go just for all you folks that hate the thought of snow.........

Today it is really blowing in off the lake, and a few areas are calling in whiteouts. The highway between North Bay and Sturgeon Falls has been closed due to blowing snow. I did clear all three driveways I look after, Weather seers are saying it is heading south east and into NY state to give them a nice white Christmas, and snow for their ski hills......
