2000 Drifter Oil/Clutch Paint color with a warning.

   I think that the valve covers are the same for the 800 Classic and the 800 Drifter, I had thought of doing that but then was told, I would lose on the rareness of the bike I have. But I have seen it done on a Drifter and it does look really nice.

Sorry can't help with the color. Have a look at the diagrams for the classic and the drifter to see if the parts are interchangeable.

Hello Drifter fans

After a 16 year absence from my (2000 yr) 800 Drift (Sky Blue) it's back at my home.  My dad loved the bike so much, he "took" it from me with only 500 mile, that was in 16 years ago.  (now it has 18,000 miles)

Warning: After removing the front sprocket cover for cleaning, I placed the part in a sonic wash.
Big mistake.  I thought the outside mat silver color was metal; but it is not - it's a painted surface. So the sonic wash did an excellent job cleaning the cover, however, it removed some paint as well.

Q: Do 800 Vulcan chrome covers fit a 2000 Drifter 800?
It is my understanding that starting in 2001, the Drifter went to chrome on these covers. (I like the chrome look)

Q: Anyone know the paint code for the Oil/Clutch covers?

Or I may have to paint all covers and same and not worry about the factory color.
