The bags are being primed and painted now. I'm working with another guy to finish the bracket mod and fit up. Pictures and more to follow (hopefully soon).

After some major mods to the Osprey brackets  I bought, and dropping to an 11.5" shock, I'm very happy with the look of these bags.  Time to get them to paint.

Those hard bags look fantastic on your Drifter. When you get those painted they'll  look like there made from the factory for it.

Did you use any of their brackets in conjunction with your Osprey brackets?  https://www.tsukayu.com/Installation_rev3.htm

What type of modification was needed to make the Osprey brackets work?

Please post up the final pics and how too's after painting is done.  Great job.............

Ken, those look great.  So you ended up with the "strong" sized bags???    ABS or Fiberglass?  Anything you would do different??

I did go with the "strong" ABS bags.  They do make fiberglass bags too.  I'll have to gather lessons learned and post them when all is said and done.

Thanks Old Drifter....certainly looks like the lap top will fit in those. Much appreciated

Are you planning on putting on any kind of lights on the back of the bags?

Old Drifter...can you tell me what the opening dimensions are on your Leatherlyke bags...i.e. once the tops are open? I'm looking for a larger set of bags to carry a 15" x 10" laptop routinely to work. Wondering if it will fit in your "roomy" bags

KW-Retrorider, I believe my LeatherLyke bags are the Cross Country models. They measure 6-3/8" x 15-3/4" x 12" deep. You're laptop should have no problem fitting and have plenty of room to spare.

Really like the way these look and can't wait to see them painted!   I was looking at the Mustang bags which I am pretty sure are the same size.  I just might consider bags now.  Sometimes I really miss the extra storage.
Oh; like the signal light relocation too!

Very interested to see how it turns out.  I recently decided to go "bagless" (just using a small leather trunk) but can easily be swayed!  :-)

See entry I left earlier today.

Looks great Ken, nice job on the custom fit!  8)

Thanks, Gene.  It's been a crazy journey so far, but I finally got the bags how I envisioned them to be. Just another step in making this bike my own.
Look how well those bags follow the fender line.  The machinist who modified the brackets for me said; "Wow.  It's like they was made for this bike.  Oh yeah, I guess I did make them for this bike".  Made me laugh.

You could make brackets for them. Mine hang from the seat but still don't touch the fender. Where there's a will there's a way. Those are bigger bags but still doable.

Those bags and seat are gorgeous
on your Drifter.

Saw this on this ebay auction (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-Vulcan-/331995785899?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d4c7daaab:g:cjQAAOSwZJBX-6j-&item=331995785899&autorefresh=true)

What a cool way to install hard bags and relocate the blinkers!

Yeah, cool if you like shaken stuff... those hard bags move together with the fender!

I love my swingin' bike!

They do, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with the mounts you sold me. I'm very satisfied with what I bought.  However, for these particular bags, I need the bracket to extend further down by about 3.5 inches.

what do you have to do to the mounts to get those bags attached?  They look like they have a flat back to them...

I bought a pair of those osprey brackets and having to modify the heck out of them for these bags.  I should have something to share in the next couple weeks.

I had a heck of a time finding bags, first I wanted hard bags but couldn't find ones that I could paint 2 tone and have them look right so I settled for soft bags. Looking forward to seeing how these look.

Those look pretty good... I like my 120mm ammo cans though :D  Water proof, big enough to hold a 30 pack of beer, cheap and they match with the rough and tough look of my bike.

Post pictures when you get your new bags mounted, I'd love to see them.
