;) I will make all efforts to have a really nice Northern lights display for you, but you have to be here Feb 15th 2017 and you will see them............
I have seen the result of Moose vs car, Moose vs truck and even Moose vs train collisions, so I did not want to overburden the man upstairs after he looked after PC so well with a Moose vs motorcycle with my heather soul on board.  It was the flies driving the Moose out of the woods to the road, if Gb had been watching the road rather than the trees along the road he would have seen more Moose than rump..... 8) :o

Oh, on the trailer...   10 hour trip based on google map time, plus time in customs, plus traffic at Toronto (think Chicago, but with a different accent), ended up being over 14 hours on the road.  Wouldn't have made it on the bike....

No Worries

Well, we had a great time in the Great White North, eh?  We got to eat a lot of Poutine, had some good Canadian beer (Bud light with a label in French and English), some of Canada's finest spirits (Crown Royal), and some great Canadian wings (similar to US wings but in sold in Pounds instead of dozens - go figure - I thought that place was all metric???)

Sir Ratman was quite the host, treating us like royalty.

When planning our trip, he asked what special requests we might have.  I mentioned it would be really nice to see the Northern lights - He said he would try.  Mrs. GB said "Gee, I'd like to see a moose".   So what does Ratman do, but to go out and CAPTURE said moose, stage it along the highway  on our route up to New Liskeard, evidently with some type of remote-control release button of sorts, and lets the damn thing go just as we're coming up on it at 120 KM/Hr...  He nearly locks his wheels up, and stops several yards away, but I thought "why stop here, let's get a closer look", so I also slowed down, but not as quick, so got close enough to nearly slap it on the rump as it goes by.  You wouldn't believe the size of the gonads on a moose.... So after stopping at the next roadside rest and changing pants, we went on to new Liskeard without further incident.

We then go to the Biker's Reunion and saw, I'd say, several thousand bikes.   I'm still waiting on the count, but haven't heard.   I've never seen an event with such support from the community.  The scenery was fabulous on the way back, and the riding was great.  We had a nice time.

As far as the Northern lights, well, let's say the closest I got to see was the reflection of moonlight from the giant swarms of shadfiles in the evening....

No Worries

Today I took Mr. GreenBarn and his lovely bride to New Liskeard for the largest gathering of motorcycles in northern Canada.  It was a 2 hour ride up to the event. I will allow Mr. GreenBarn a chance to explain his ride up and the event that happened himself. We did met up with another Forum member Wayne, who lives in the area and he was a hoot as always. Super cool guy. Some of the bikes so enjoy and if Gb's story is not up to par I'll give you all the real story, we then travelled back to North Bay via the QC side of the border.

We had rain all day Friday so toured them about by truck and almost all stores were closed Friday due to being Canada Day. Today was really nice and clear, so took them to my favorite coffee shop for brunch, then took them out around Lake Nosbonsing, and some nice back roads. Then took them to a local car show, we then left for a nice 2 hour ride up the north highway and over 64 down to Sturgeon Falls for supper. Then home and relax, chatted with the neighbours, was a really nice night.
In the morning we will fuel up and ride the 2 hours to New Liskeard. We will ride in the missing man formation and leave that place for Pilgrim.......

CDNRatMan

well Mr. Pilgrim you will recall you have / had / been extended a welcome to attend the Birker Reunion with us on Sunday but you had so many excuse that Mr. Carter has turned them into liver pills. I am taking very good care of my American Cousin and his really lovely wife. We will be doing a few local loop rides tomorrow and then getting ready for Sunday......and riding over on the QC side of the border.......

I was expecting to see a UFO. LOL  It's to see you guys getting out on your Drifters. Ride safe and have fun.

Yesterday I rode the Dragons tail at Deals Gap. Was a fun ride.

Today, it is now 0730 and the strange object is still in my driveway, so got a picture of it........

never seen something like this in my driveway, strange so now if there is 2 of them then we can have our own mini Drift event.......lol.....

if the weather holds clear today then we will go and ride the North Bay version of the Tail of the Dragon, and then hit a few of the local ride routes. I promised Mrs GreenBarn a stop at the local fudge place also......

Seen something out of the ordinary late last night but it was to dark to get any decent pictures, so once the sun comes up I'll have to get my trusty camera out and see if I can get some pictures of this object I saw yesterday. I hope it is still around......

more to follow.......
