To Trall, nice job on customizing that bike. Really like the air breather cover. Is it the original painted? There's just so many ways to customize a drifter. I would say they are one of the coolest bikes on the road!

Now that's thinking inside the keg. ;D

A tap handle, that would have been cool! A tap handle from Old Flame Brewery in Port Perry would look awesome.

Great idea for the padlocks on your trunk to keep the curious kids from "looking"
Looks perfect!  8)

Be careful consuming those barley sandwiches while your riding. The O.P.P. may see that tap handle and pull you over.  ;)

Super sharp.  Ted shifter's are iconic.  The Drifter itself is #1 for style and retro design and my #2 is Ted's shifter's, old school looks and way way cool factor on the bike, my #3 is the 1500 solo seat rail and #4 1500 cargo rack.  IMO if you own a Drifter your bike is not at the next level without the hand shifter.  Just driving makes it more fun.

Those shifter Drifter knobs are perfect and high quality.  There's a a real cool silver Indian head, that you can get on Ebay from time to time and are cool to change up now and then.  It's all metal and can use a basic tap and die set to make  the same thread size needed in two minutes.  That and 100 more knobs to suite your taste.

Here's mine

It depends on where the bracket on the foot shifter ends up. I purposely moved it forward.
Here's some pix of the bracket that came with the kit and my modification.
Other than that it is fine.

I was thinking about ordering one some time ago but I didn't want it to block the Zambini Indian tank emblem.
Your pics clearly show it won't ... I just might reconsider!

Thanks for this thread!

I was told that the Drifter insignia is supposed to face the rider, the palm goes on the flat so I turned it. ???

That's a good look, Ronnie.  I looked at those shifter handles too.  Looks really good on your bike.

No Worries

What a classic touch.   Better get one while you can at some point Ted won't be making those anymore  then those hand shifters will be as hard to find as solo seat rails.

mittico68

Nice indeed!
It makes me think about doin' it to ma-deuce...

I love my swingin' bike!
