I do get approached by the Freedom Guard Riders a few times a year.  If I had time I'd go on rides and stuff... but with a full time job and a family it's tough to get away for fun rides.

Thanks guys!  Yeah, the 'matte' clear coat was a little to 'semi-gloss' for my taste, but nothing a few thousand miles won't fix!  Most important thing is that the tank ain't in danger of rusting out anymore... because that'd suck.

The mirrors are terrible and not my idea... I actually have some fresh ones in the mail as we speak.  Main issue is that the 'glass' is plastic and about as clear as a window smeared with jelly.  I can see behind me just fine, it's just blurry as hell!

I work with computers so I need to be able to haul them around safely and I ride all summer long rain or shine... so the ammo cans were the perfect solution.  Scored 'em for $20 each at a local junk shop.  Love the gas can bags, that's pretty sweet.  Mine can fit a 30 pack of beer in 'em though heh.  Gotta love the 120mm shell size.  I've been toying with the idea of integrating signals into mine, but the signal switch quit working last year and I'm so used to hand signals now that I'm not sure I'd remember to use the lights.  I really oughta fix that switch... but then I'd need to get another turn signal and then I'd want to change the type and once that ball was rolling it'd be hard to stop.

Those gas can saddlebags are a cool military/utilitarian look! Like the lights in the fill cap hole.

BTW, do those mirrors let you see well the back of your road? Their stems are attached in a not so common place...

   I think the important part is "are you happy with the results" if you are happy then just tell those that do not like it to shove it, if people do not like it then no reason to comment on it.
I like it it is different, not my cup of tea but I like that it is different.

A bit too shiny perhaps, but I'm sure a few good rides should transform him from new recruit to seasoned veteran.

Here he is... stayed up until 12:30 last night and got up at 5AM just so I could finish the bugger and ride him to work today...

Work kicking my ass so far this week, but hopefully soon I'll be out wrenching again.  Gotta reinforce that headlight bucket with fiberglass hopefully tonight.  I have a plan to reinforce the inside with fiberglass and then just put a big honkin band-aid over the hole lol.  We'll see how it goes, Sarge has always been a rough 'n ready scoot; I don't want perfection and chrome to polish

So this winter, I got a little worried about the state of my poor Drifter's tank, so I pulled it

And I was wondering why his headlight was rattling... figured that out quick enough.

So I got out the tools and started going to work.  Good thing too, this poor fella was THRASHED!

I mean I figured as long as I was doing the tank I might as well....

Finally down to the metal... the poor bugger!

Then I sent him over to a good buddy of mine to get some band-aids on his owies.

And then he got some new color

And a little bit of attitude

And damn it I'm not finished yet, but it was FUCKING SNOWING this morning so I guess I've got a couple days lol.
