If it is only because the holes are to small why not just drill them out to the correct size? Does everything else line up ?

yeah everything else lines up, but I dont want to sacrifice the strength of the bar if I were to lay it down. It if snaps my bike is screwed

Heres the update on the Engine Guard I bought off ebay a couple weeks back. Well it looks great but the holes where I needed to mount the bracket to my floorboard mount were not big enough for the bolt to slide through and screw in. Guess I will be sending it back. Too bad, it looks pretty damn good.

Before I purchase, do these look right?

So the engine guard came in yesterday and it looks GREAT! The weld job is not crooked like it shows in the ebay picture. It looks perfect. I am will be out of town for the next few days, but will install and and take pictures to show. But overall. it looks like a good product.

I have a set downstairs that I removed from my old 2001 1500 Drifter (around 10k miles) that I was thinking about selling on Ebay.
I'll look at it later and get back to you.

So, if you should send it back, you might keep an eye on this one: http://www.empmotorparts.nl/en/crash-bars/crash-bars-top-line-35-mm/crash-bars-top-line-35-mm-black/14-11-0362-bl-crash-bar-top-line-black-coated
It's black, but they've also got it chromed.
It's not really pricey and, I can tell it for sure, it's well made and strong: I've bought one black for ma-deuce (800) and last summer an I-D-I-O-T just crashed down her but, fortunately, no great damages! just a few scratches...

Thansk Matti but this one looks different than the one I ordered. Brackets are different.

I bought front engine guard bars from the UK, so I would suggest you keep an eye on e bay in the UK. Shipping parts from there to CDN were not to bad so to the US would not be any worse.
