Okay, it HAS been very quiet here.  Well, here's a story for you. .  . . .

I had just come out of Tractor Supply the other day, and had just put my purchases in my saddle bags and trunk, when I heard the sound of screeching tires.  I look over and there is a pickup truck in front of the store that threw it into reverse and was peeling out.  His tires finally got some grip and the truck started to reverse.  Then after going back about 50 feet at full speed, the guy puts it in drive, does a burn out and points his truck right toward me.  I had no idea what I did to piss this guy off, but it looked like he was determined to run me and my bike over as he came at me at full speed.  At the last second he turns the wheels, and slams on the brakes, screeching to a stop.  I figured What's going to happen next?".  The guy then looks at me and says "I saw your Indian and I just had to come over.  I used to own four Indians".  Whew!  That was a relief that I was not about to be murdered.

So our conversation started the usual course we all have as our bikes are mistaken for Indians.  I explained to him it was a Drifter.  He asked me if it also had a Jap engine too.  Oh well.  I said, "Thankfully, it does!".  Anyway, we probably talked bikes for about 20 minutes.  He used to have a collection of Indians, Harleys, and Triumphs, but sold them when he stopped riding.  The guy said he was 85, but he didn't look a day over 70.

Then in the curt style of many seniors, he said he couldn't waste any more time talking, as he had many errands to run.  So we said our goodbyes and he drove off.  Then I put my riding gear on, which took a few minutes.  Just as I'm ready to start my bike, I noticed he turned around and had driven up along side of me again.  He said "I just want to hear your engine when you start it.".  So I started it and he a had a big grin on his face.  I revved it a few times for good measure, to which he responded "Yup, sure sounds like a Harley too.".  Oh well.   ??? :o

Well, anyway, that was my excitement for the day!

Anyone going to the motorcycle show in Toronto in January? I'm thinking about making a day of it with some folks from Rochester.

Ratman, I don't know.  Probably not as the wife will probably not be able to make the ride and I can't leave her alone due to health issues.

Sadly this forum is a bee hive compared to 2 other bike forums I am on. I know a bunch of people here are suffering from PMS about this point in time:
PARKED MOTORCYCLE SYNDROME,
I am not yet I have a few small projects left to complete.
PC are you going to be in attendance at Troll's event in WI this summer?

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE

I've noticed that myself, PC.    Busy time of year....    compounded by a lot of family illness for us as well.  We need to get busy...

No Worries

Now that was funny. Not nice, but funny just the same....lol

Well, it is the Christmas Season but I can respond with a bit of good news.  My wife had her credit card stolen and we didn't notice until the strange bills started rolling in. It took some time but the police eventually found the culprit with the card. When they called to have me press charges I told them not to bother. I totalled up my bills and it turns out this guy was spending a lot less than my wife.

What's with everyone lately?  You all act like you have lives or something?  ;)

This place is too quiet!  Someone crank a throttle, or an electric guitar, or something!
