Passive solar power is so cheap and it will heat the house all winter long. Because we have snow does not mean we do not get sunshine..........
hot tubs are also very popular around here......

..........today I am waiting the delivery of my sun room for the back of the house, the sun is shining, the snow is melting it has dropped at least 2" off the front lawn we are down to about 4.5 ft in the front were I don't blow it.

First off, I can't pick which of the thousands of jokes to use about a man getting a sun room in a place where sunshine so so sparse.  Kinda like having a hot tub delivered to hell, isn't it?

Second, 4 1/2 feet of snow still on the ground?!!!!  If you piled up all we had all winter it wouldn't come to half of that!  I haven't seen white stuff on the ground for weeks!  Today it's 70F, and the house windows are open and I'm riding!

Third, I might have mentioned it before, but, YOU NEED TO MOVE SOUTH MY MAN!

  you mean down south in Restoule they have a lot of snow.......well up North here we have more snow and proud of it...lol.....but we will be moving shortly to our tepee's and watching the igloo melt.

spring is here in 14 days, unfortunately spring in north bay is 44 days away...

  Well Spring is only 14 days away and I still have about 5 ft of snow in the front lawn to get melted. The bike is almost ready for the spring now. My slits is almost done......

1. Oil / filter change, DONE
2. New tires front and rear, adding counter balance beads, DONE
3. New wheel bearings front and rear, All Ball Bearing kits, DONE
4. Swing arm bearings replaced, DONE
5. Drilled rotor for the front from a Classic 800, DONE
6. New Stainless Steel Brake lines in black of course, and a +2" extension on the front one, DONE
7. Check and clean calipers replace seals, DONE
8. Switching the power point to a USB type, DONE
9. Weld some tabs on the Front engine guard for new LED lights and my highway pegs,DONE
10. Then take a bunch of parts for powder coating.DONE
11. Replace wind screen DONE

and a few other small mods I'll keep to myself for now and show them in WI when we are there.....

  I have plans for the rest of the winter. GB is explaining how he can get me to IN and I can come and spend the winter visiting you and living the life style of a IN resident, and just sit around and watch TV and you can look after me.

Or I can stay here and make all the vids that Troll has post into one long tape and then get a couple of industrial fans and then I can watch the vids and have the fans on full to give the impression of riding......and just watch all the tapes.....

Or I can go and live in 0hi0 and hang out with GB at home and the shop to kill the winter........I could even help out at the shop and .............

At this rate you're going to be done with the list by Christmas!  Then you'll have to sit around and watch Trolls video's for 8 months until your 5 minute riding season is here.

The 1500s have a cover to remove to access the steering neck that the 800s don't have.

The J's don't.  Only the R's do.

Pilgrim: There is a step by step on the zerk install that dates to 2013 that I used to do mine. Really just pick a spot in the middle of the neck, use the correct size drill bit, then tap the hole for the zerk, then pump with grease until it comes out both ends. The 1500s have a cover to remove to access the steering neck that the 800s don't have.

Are you going to make a video of the steering neck bearings and zerk install? Prob need to do that to my bike also.

  So due to the local Kawasaki Dealer policy changes and his attitude towards customers, I have decided to take my wheels to Sudbury to be mounted,so I have a 2 hour drive one way, wait then drive home, so will get some shopping in the big city done, make it a full day trip. So anyway....my list:

1. Oil / filter change, DONE
2. New tires front and rear, adding counter balance beads, Almost, beads are done,
3. New wheel bearings front and rear, All Ball Bearing kits, on order in Sudbury
4. New steering head bearings again All Ball Bearings, on order in Sudbury
5. Zerk fitting in the neck as per Troll and GB, bought here waiting till front end is off
6. Swing arm bearings replaced, DONE
7. Drilled rotor for the front from a Classic 800, DONE
8. New Stainless Steel Brake lines in black of course, and a +2" extension on the front one, HERE will be done as wheels installed
9. Check and clean calipers as I have this all apart, WAITING PARTS
10. Switching the power point to a USB type, HERE
11. Weld some tabs on the Front engine guard for new LED lights and my highway pegs,
12. Then take a bunch of parts for powder coating.
13. Replace wind screen DONE

So we are moving forward and all is well......

  Well I have greased them each winter, but I had something that was not right, and so not knowing what has been done in the last 12 years to the bearings or what they have been through, for the price factor and peace of mind for new bearings it is well worth the time and effort.

[Troll]

The wheel bearings are grease packed and sealed for life. I have 103,000 miles on mine, right now. The swing arm bearings are a different matter. On a 1500, they are needle roller bearings in the frame, on the 800, they are needle roller bearings located in the swing arm, itself.
