  Ok glad those let you into the tool box, the original Kawasaki Vulcan ones do not even when in the down position. That was one reason to mount my vintage H-D tool box on the bike. Does make the bike look grown up ....lol.....and most passengers like the boards better then pegs for sure.

Haha. The boards only block the toolbox when they're up. I don't need tools to put them down, so it's a win-win. And when I finally figure out how I want to mount my toolbag that I bought from Osprey, it won't matter anyway.

I have to agree with greenbarn though, it's a bit of a bummer that the print on the bottom of the board is upside down when they're folded up. Either way, I'm extremely happy with the purchase. The same company also offers radiator covers that look pretty nice.

Those look really good IMO.  I like the writing on the bottom/outside/chrome side.  Although not sure why they stamped it so it's upside down when they are folded up - I like the printing, I think it makes them look old school.

I wound up going with the folding version made by H.a.c. Products out of Helmond, Netherlands (http://www.customcruisers.com/Custom2005/customshop2005/contents/en-uk/p343.html). Simple to install and they seem like they've got great build quality.

It looks like they make a couple of other products for the VN800/VN1500 as well (thought some aren't listed for Drifters and I'm not sure why).

They're foldable and black coated and, most of all, fit nicely my baby (a 1999 Drifter)...
You just need to be patient and keep on searchin' on the web: soon or later, you could be lucky as I've been!

  Ok the first pair have the correct mounting bracket for the Drifter 800.

The second set you would have to ensure that the bracket is the correct one, I would go for the first set right off because they will fit.

  Be sure to know that they will fit an 800 because the 800 and 1500 has different mounting set ups. I'll ask a few of the lads on the UK site if they have ever dealt with the company and what they have to say, give me a day or so to get some answers for you.

  Well pegs seem to be easier to find, folding floor boards are hard to find but not impossible, you will find the odd ones showing up on e bay at times. I'll  keep watching for you

as an after thought you might want to keep an eye on the UK sites as they come up there at times, and again depending on what you want to spent also.

For a while, things were looking dicey. I was actually considering trading my Drifter 800 on a 2012 Triumph Thunderbird Storm. Luckily the dealership didn't offer me what I wanted for my trade so I'll be keeping the Drifter!

I immediately went to a custom chopper shop and had them order the bits needed to design a custom exhaust. I also ordered a Thunder Mfg. Air Kit, Corbin Two-Up Saddle, and matching Saddlebags. This is going to be fun.

Unfortunately I hit a wall when it came to something I thought would be fairly simple. Does anybody know where I can find a set of passenger floorboards for an 800? If I have to, I'll settle for pegs but I'd really rather not. I'm going all out to make the Drifter a bike that I'll keep for the long-haul and don't want to short-change myself on something silly like this.
