I really like the style of the 05 I have, love that long teardrop tank. I have been out on the new one and found it small. Yes the handling at low speed is better, but I still like the 05 better. If the motor will at least have the room to bolt in then the rest can be sorted out. Do you know if it physically possible to fit it in?

Anything is possible, with enough work.  In all honesty, It'd probably put you way ahead to just buy a 1700 though.

Hi All. I have a 05 Nomad 1600. I really enjoy the bike, but wish it had a 6th gear. I know I can't add a 6th to mine, but is it possible to put the newer 1700 with the six speed into the frame of the 05 Nomad. I understand going from shaft to belt drive will have to be done. But with the motor fit in the frame? has anyone tried or did this?
