I just powder coated the rims.  Still don't have them back on yet.  I had them do the spokes and all, in black.  We'll see how it holds up.  My biggest fear is that the powder coat will crack around the spokes from flexing.  Time will tell.....

Had my rims powder coated metallic ivory.  I have the same concern with cracking and chipping. Only time will tell.  Hasn't even been a year yet though.

Hillbilly's 1500 had red powder coated rims for years and they looked great year after year.

Also, has anyone had experience powder coating the OEM wire wheels? Thanks in advance for any insights

No Worries

Thanks Matt. The rims are painted and the engine is powder coated.

Thanks for the reply. Your bike looks great, and it looks like you blacked out a lot more. Did you powder coat or paint the wheels and engine?

I had my V&H Longshots powder coated black and they came out nice.

GreenBarn just did his 800 wheels and I think DC did his also, so they will be able to help you out with that question.

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE

Friends, I'm looking for a set of black straight pipes for my '99 1500. Does anyone know where I can pick these up? Bike needs a repaint, and I'm going all blacked out. Like the V&H's but can't find them in black.
