There you are spoilt for choice, I'm riding on Michelin commander ll's and they are ok, I had a twitch the other day turning a corner a bit too sharp and leaning too much and as I straightened up the back end kicked, the tires held and everything was fine, my other favourite tyre is Avon Venom's but my last pair have rotted after only 4 years, they do hold the road well though.

For tires I'd suggest the new Shinko 777's.  I've had them for a year now and I'm pretty impressed.  They come in blackwall and wide whites.

While mine is an 800, I got the Commander II's (on a recommendation from Troll) and they're fantastic. They grip well, and seem to be very long wearing and are comparable for the most part on price. For the battery, I actually just grabbed one from walmart. For the price they were pretty hard to beat for an AGM battery. Mine stays on a battery tender the entire time as well and that seems to have the biggest impact.

I also went for a 20 A/H battery but could not get the Yuasa that was the one I wanted,I ended up with a lucas and so far has been fine although I did have to adapt the battery strap to fit. I have just replaced the tyres for the first time as I have only had the bike a year. I stuck to the Dunlop D404 but it is early days how long they last. I have done 3k up to now and have had no frights with them, these commanders troll mentions sound good.

I just put in a Yuasa 20 series...as opposed to the oem 16...AND, as far as I'm concerned, unless you HAVE to have whitewalls, you cannot beat the Michelin Commander II. My first set lasted me 2 years/24,000 miles, and they are still not completely worn out. I now have 1,000 miles on my second set...

Hello folks,

I did some research a while back on recommended replacement batteries and tires but I lost all my notes and I don't have time to go digging again.  Can anyone recommend a high quality replacement battery?  I don't mind spending the extra money for a long lasting quality battery.  I will be using a Battery Tender on it.  I also may be adding a stereo and extra lights later to one of my two drifter 1500s, so I need plenty of juice.
I am also looking for good quality tires as well.  I live in Florida so the roads are pretty rough on tires down here.  Looking for combo of long lasting a good grip.  Again, money is not the question when considering how important your tires are.  Thx for any help.
