I have a corbin and love it (actually two, solo and 2up). Way better than the factory seat. My wife really likes the backrest too. There are a lot of non-corbin backrests that are said to fit, but I've heard mixed things about how well they fit.

Thanks guys, that is good to know that about the Corbin,I know they are very expensive as I had one on my blackbird that I did buy secondhand but I had it 5 years and when I sold the bike I put the original seat back on and got my money back. Looking at it that way they are a cheap seat that's what I will tell Andrea. :D

Thanks, but no big deal, just trying to help.

something else to think about - You may not know - The Corbin has it's own built in spot for a backrest.  Now, they are very proud of the backrests, and they are expensive, but hey, isn't anything on a motorcycle in general, and on a Drifter, in particular??

Check out their backrests on their website:
http://corbin.com/kawasaki/kd800dt.shtml

You can usually pick up a backrest on Ebay for $150 used, or $100 if you get a really good deal.   And, the good news:  the backrests are universal - fits all their seats, and fits front and back.  You can just buy one backrest and use it for either front and rear.

Maybe this is an easy way to get her to give up the sissy bar......   just trying to help...  ;D

I would just like to say a big big thankyou to Greenbarn who went to a great deal of trouble and a lot of time to give me all the pictures and measurements of the Corbin seat,I am so glad you did as it was going to be tight but because you gave me various ones it did prove it will not fit with the sissy bar in place. So now I need to convince the beautiful Mrs Shunter we do not need the sissy bar she loves so much. GreenBarn  you are a major asset to the forum and if there is anything I can ever do for you please ask.
