Have to admit, I like the looks of the longer, Nomad exhaust.

Any chance you can post pictures of the mounts you made for the Nomad exhaust?   If it looks easy enough, I might buy the Vance & Hines Nomad pipes and throw them on my bike.

Thanks

Not sure if the v&h would work with the mounts I made . The nomad mufflers are atacked to the goat belly and the nomad saddle bags , the v&h are only attached to the heads and the saddle bags . The mounts I made attach to the foot pegs , so between the goat belly and the foot pegs is a short reach for the nomad mufflers. I don't know if my mounts are strong to hold everything . I hope you unstand what I'm trying to say. I'll tell what if u pm me with your email address I'll take some pics of the mounts and send them to you but it may take a few days before I can

Well, the front part of those pipes looks very similar the the V&H pipes.  Maybe a hybrid of V&H head pipes with Nomad ends?

Bambam, you know you can do duals with V&H pipes, right?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I saw that thread  before but the V&H pipes are just too "thin" and don't look as good as duals made for the nomad which are much thicker and better looking.   The duals on this Nomad would look  awesome on my Drifter

they are the stock nomad exhaust , i did make mounts for both sides , i did swap the nomad mufflers for the vulcan 750 mufflers , the mounts for the 750 are easier to make , i open up the goat belly and removed everything inside and had a friend wield it back together

Norman, I am intrigued by the exhaust and have a few questions.  I've been waiting for the RoadHouse Doolies thing to materialize in another thread so I can get dual exhausts before going to Stergis but apparently that thread was just a tease or something...

You said the exhaust was for a Nomad 1600.  What make are the pipes (I assume Vance and Hines?) and what year Nomad reference for ordering?   Did you make custom mounts for both sides or did you buy them somewhere?    And lastly, why are you swapping them out, didn't you like the sound?

Appreciate any response, I really want to get a dual exhaust on my bike before we leave for Sturgis August 1st ... thanks

i`m changing the nomad mufflers to the vulcan 750 mufflers . they will be here this week and i`m thinking of removing the goat belly and running straight pipes to the 750 mufflers .

Did the brake disc fit straight on?

i found the rotor in ebay , its for a vulcan 1500 it was brand new and i made a offer for 125 and they took it and yes if fits perfect. kawasaki wants 350 for a new one . i believe all the front 1500 vulcan rotor are all the same size . if you want to do the front wheel i can talk you threw it if you can do your own work . its not hard . pull out the bearings is the hardest part , i used a concrete anchor to pull them out . i want to buy a blind puller one day but the concrete anchor works pretty good but they are only good for a few times to pull the bearings out . i wish a 21 inch wheel would fit under the drifter fender , the vulcan 900 custom front wheel is a 21 and it has the same size bearings as drifter and i think it uses the size rotor also . it has only 1 rotor like the drifter . the 19 inch wheel is close to the top of the drifter fender so i dont think the 21 would fit with out mods to the drifter fender

Mr.Hanbar

I love the wheels idea, i wonder how would it look if the wheel was chromed to match the fork and other visible chromed areas....but it looks great.

Nice look, I love the duals.

What size  nomad did those came off of?

Ya, dualies look nice on the Drifter.

norman3516

thanks everyone , elmo the rear wheel go`s right on , the front wheel , all i had to do was get drifter bearings and drill the middle of the wheel out so the drifter axle would work , greenbarn , the exhaust is from a 1600 nomad , richaud , the front wheel that i`m using is from the vulcan 1500 88 and i beleave they have the speedo on the front wheel also

richaud

That Wheel made my mouth water;) Unfortunately I got the 99 version with speedo on front Wheel so It's a dead end for me
