Congratulations Ratman....for starters, we need some Sunbeam Red at the Drift-In this year!

CDNRatMan

I applied with them a few years back and never heard jack from them, then here they cut them back big time and have them working loads of weird hours and part shifts so they don't have to pay them full time.....so going to stay away from them. Stick with my disability from VA for now.

Congrats Ratty! I got plenty of work to keep you busy, can't pay you though.  Commissionaires are on a big spree, and the best part is you can go PT with them and pick and choose when to work.

pcarrell

Well aren't you just a ray of sunshine? ;)

Age is a strange thing, over here they have raised the retirement age from 65 to 68 for men, women used to retire at 60, I don't know what theirs is now, this means that you can't claim your old age pension until you reach retirement age..

Ok so here's the thing.

You are born at 0 years of age.

You are old and retire at 68 years of age..

So all you old buggers who think you are middle aged, think again.

The middle of 0 and 68 is 34, so at 34 years old you are middle aged..

Anyone over middle age is old.

Sorry about that, but should you bother to get out of bed tomorrow, you don't have as much time left as you thought you did.

John.

I am retired too.  I finally admitted it at the first of the year.  I will be 62 in July and I haven't been looking for a job for over a year.  I kept thinking I would find something to do, but in truth, I haven't been even looking at the Want Ads or Craigslist for over a year.

I like it.  A bunch.

DC

Just add on a few more wives like I did and you won't need to work.

John Hopkins

or you could just fly over here with your family, I could probably loan a spare bike to you and have a few spare bedrooms.

Lots to do when you retire.

John.

Laugh, and laugh hard......but very afraid....once the snow melts I just might be on my way...........one more bone scan and we will know more....so have the trailer out behind the shop cleaned and ready for me........

.. find something I want to do.....
.. spend the summer riding....
.. figure out how to make money to support myself.
.. I see a few rides to Lacrosse and Richwood to kill some time.....

Congrats, Ratman.  I can help you on a few of those items.....    We need some firewood cut, split, and stacked,  bike projects finished and bikes washed, and various other jobs done.  The Pay is $3 per hour, and 3 squares and a cot...
No Worries

Congrats Ratman!  You'll like retirement!

I retired 21 years ago, you would be amazed how much there is to do, and how little time to do it.

John.

CDNRatMan

Congratulations...why dont you live off that money you have hidden under that fence post in your back yard?

Don't be daft, you can't dig fence post holes in Canada, the ground is frozen solid, well you can in summer but who want's to spend the only day the sun shines digging holes..

John.

You're a lucky guy. Now you've got much more time to spend by ridin' your sweet bike or by searchin' new stuff for customizing... ;)

I love my swingin' bike!

Well today at 0915 I officially became like Troll, DC, Bake, and a few others, I was deemed old, I have hung up my uniform for the last time.....well actually I turned in my last uniform and whatever to Supply and now I have to find an honest job, after 42+ years I have been put to pasture and retired. So I am going to relax find something I want to do and spend the summer riding once I figure out how to make money to support myself. I see a few rides to Lacrosse and Richwood to kill some time.....so on that note time to go and tweak my bike some more and hope the snow melts soon......
