I use Kawasaki full synthetic and it costs less than $10usd a quart. Never had a problem with it.

I have noticed that all the cheap semi synth 10/40 oils that sell for about $12 a gallon are marked API SC along with five other ratings..

API SC is supposed to be motorcycle rated for wet clutches but I don't think I would trust everything printed on a packet these days.

I'm paying $48 a gallon for my Castrol power 1.

Nah, go with the full synthetic. I've used it in all my bikes from mile 1 since... ahhh... since... well for a long time... Make sure its for bikes with wet clutches... ie NO FRICTION MODIFIERS!

I see no reason for him to say that.  I don't know of anything in synthetic oil that could damage your clutch.  Of course, make sure it's motorcycle oil - for wet clutches.

I had dealer replace clutch and spring last year and the put Dino oil in it and said I'd be better if I at least went two or three oil changes before going full synthetic. Is this true? I've got about 3000 on new clutch and getting her ready for the season I'd like to use Amsoil full syn but don't want to damage clutch. Thanks in advance for any advice.
