Caliper and mounting bracket, and the reflector bracket that holds the hose. Once you have that out of the recess in the fender, put it behind the crash bar to prevent it swinging back and damaging paint. I always hang things like that with a bungee cord, since the hose is not made for that sort of thing. No need to remove the caliper from the hose, but it might be a good time to check those front brake pads.

It's a good idea to remove the caliper cover and caliper before removing the wheel as well.

That's the adapter I have and a very similar jack. I've had it just about forever, since my Harleys were all flat on the bottom. Almost sold it in a rummage sale a few years ago, glad I didn't. Works REALLY WELL with the adapter.

I have a motorcycle jack of the scissors type, and an ATV frame jack and an adapter for the Vulcan chassis. You will really need to get the front pretty high up to get the tire out, but it comes out and goes back in quite easily.

I CERTAINLY wouldn't attempt to remove the fender without wheel removal...I suppose it could be done, but you'd risk damage to the fender. I have mine stripped down right now. Both wheels are off for cleaning and both fenders off for paint repair...

Hi All... According to the workshop manual the front Wheel needs to come off to remove the fender.. Is that true? DO I need to take the Wheel off?

Rear fender comes off without removing Wheel I understnad..

Going to remove the mpste parts like tank, fenders and all to give her a real good needed Clean. The last owner didnät do to much of taking care of the girl as I can see.. Shes in need of a Winters TLC
