I tried to serve.  Made it 3/4 of the way through basic training and they issued me a medical discharge.

Yeah, my best buddy had the same thing happen while we were in boot camp.

Remember, there are a lot of ways to serve the country - 8 days ago many served simply by voting. Yesterday we celebrated those who wear and wore the uniforms of our country. The best way to show thanks is to be a good citizen, to be well informed, to vote and to at least sometimes think of Country before self. My opinion, made possible by veterans of this and previous generations! Cheers!

All the best to all our troops both U.S. and Canadian, and all of the Veterans, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom on this day, as always.

Thank you all for your service and may God Bless You All.

+1, Amen, brother

I tried to serve.  Made it 3/4 of the way through basic training and they issued me a medical discharge.  I didn't want it, but that's what I got.  My son cannot serve due to different medical issues, but my son in law is currently serving, so I guess I'll have to be good with that.

Thank you to all who served, both here in the U.S. and around the globe.

Happy Veteran's Day shipmates! If you were ever part of the military,  thanks for your service. I served in the US Navy. Those days are now ancient history. The bad times seem to have melted away and memories of the people I served with, the good times we had, the hard work and the opportunities I was given are about all is left. And, I'm good with that.

Happy Veteran's Day (and we are thinking of our Canadian military brothers and sisters too!). Cheers.
