As for the corrugated pipe covers- it's exhaust flex pipe - can get it at an exhaust shop, or perhaps NAPA, or perhaps farm supply store.

Yes, it is, but besides being polished, which can be done in the garage, the tricky part is the ends, and that's where some of those other suppliers come in handy.  (also the colored stuff)

DC were you able to find a price on them?

I don't think Mr. Fitz has the exhaust stuff any more.

No Worries

I know a few people who have dealt with Mr. Fitzsimmions, I tried to talk to him and sent him a couple emails, and even called him but could never get a straight answer from him and just gave up on buying from him. I do know that GB and D1 have also dealt with him so you can ask them about it.

I can't find the post where we all talked about this.  It appears to be gone.  I posted several links to cool companies in the thread and I can't even find my own posts now.  They may have gotten wiped out.  All is not lost though.  A forum search revealed this tidbit from 2011: Get a hold of George Fitzgimmons in Hampton, NJ   He sells a cool old school exhaust system that has serrated head pipe covers.  908-432-2641

ya I'm just liking for the flex pipe end of it not the road house exhaust itself, i was told there is a thread about using the flex pipe but maybe I'm missing it in my searches??

Here's my '99'er with a Roadhouse exhaust and ripple pipe engine pipes.  Yes they are covers held in place by large hex shaped clamps at the top and muffler clamps on the bottom.  I added a small heat shield near the floorboard to keep my boot heal away from the hot pipe.  Love the look.  The only problem I have is the ripple pipe rattle at certain RPMs.

So my two cents as the owner of a roadhouse on my 800 and having researched it fairly thoroughly...That is not a roadhouse exhaust, or stock anything, but a combination of things that produced a nice custom install.

The exhaust and tip are period Harley...but this one is chromed. Same as on "OLIVE", which I saw recently at Drift-in 2014. Saw that same exhaust at a recent Antique Motorcycle Club swap meet I just went to...talking with and seeing period bikes at those meets, the guys with the old Harleys tell me metallic flex sections were just run over the down pipes, but I have no firsthand experience with those period exhausts.

The roadhouse downpipe serrated parts make up in two different styles at the top...a large hex or an enlarged round section. They are actual clamped on covers, like the stock exhaust shields. These photos don't show that detail....but that is a nice looking exhaust!

That's a Roadhouse pipe I believe.

Last winter we kicked around the idea of recreating that effect with some flexpipe, but I don't don't think anyone tried it out in person.

ok again to bring up, I'm sure a long well over discussed question.
have searched the forum and Google with a little luck and allot of trash talk regarding  P** Boys supposedly crappie version of ripple pipe or flex pipe for exhaust.
but I'm curious a few forum members I know have the either actual ripple manifold pipe or a cover/heat shield very similar on there bikes.
it this an aftermarket accessory apart from the full exhaust upgrade? or is this only sold with specific exhaust kits like the roadhouse kit???
reference the attached picture for what I'm chatting about lol.
