..he told me that a friend of his uncle used to ride one of these during WWll and he rode with a guitar strapped to his back, he also used to fly Liberators..I chuckled to myself as I rode away, thinking if he rode a Kawasaki during WWll he was on the other side..

LOL ;D

I quit correcting people, too.  If they ask what is is, I'll tell them.  I just say "thanks" to the "Nice Indian" comments.

That is cool, I am still getting the oh you ride a Harley enough times to not correct them anymore.

Having just had new Commander ll's fitted I decided to use a tankful of fuel to burn them in, I chose to ride to a place called Weston Super Mare, about 150 miles round trip, It was a nice day and I parked in a special motorcycle only park next to the beach.. As I always do I spoke to some other riders that were there before heading off for a snack at McDonalds.. one of them had a Pan Head 1350cc EVO.. he thought my bike was a Harley..

When I got back to the park after lunch there was a brand new Polaris Indian Chief.. It looked a bit bigger than mine, the owner asked where my bike was made, he was obviously under the impression that mine was also an Indian, I didn't correct him, I just said I didn't know.. as I got ready to ride he stood watching and said he just wanted to hear what it sounded like as I rode away..Back in Wales I was running on fumes so I pulled into a gas station where an old man spoke to me about my bike..he told me that a friend of his uncle used to ride one of these during WWll and he rode with a guitar strapped to his back, he also used to fly Liberators..I chuckled to myself as I rode away, thinking if he rode a Kawasaki during WWll he was on the other side..

John.
