I had an idiot come in with a cavalier that was pulling to the right when you stepped on the brake...That would be because the brake rotor was gone, only the hub remained on the left front!

A 1-ton dually truck came in the shop recently needing some work, brakes among other things.  Found this rotor on the back.

I'm all in favor of getting your money's worth out of something, but this has taken it a little too far...

The rotor has been worn all the way through the facing on one side, and most of the way through the cooling fins.  We see 2-3 a year that are worn INTO the fins, but I've not seen one worn this completely through.  And what a pretty design!!   The piston in the caliper (which was ruined of course) had turned sideways and wedged in there causing this curvature design.  A picture of a normal new rotor is attached for reference...

I think I'll make a clock out of this one!  It's almost like artwork!

Moral of the story :  DON'T DO THAT!
