thanks john, yeah i got new tubes and bands as well. i was also planning on asking about bearings ive started to notice a strange sound coming from the front wheel. not sure if its that or the breaks dragging

Don't just change the tires, fit new tubes, and rim tapes, check that none of the spokes have come loose and because you are going to all that trouble this is the time to check for movement in the steering stem bearings, the brake pad condition the wheel bearings and pack the rear wheel splines with grease..

A couple of tire irons, some rim protectors, a static balancer, a few weights and a few beers and I can have the tires changed and balanced faster than the time it takes to drive the wheels over to the dealer and back to have them changed there. And I save $40 a wheel. It's easier than you may think.

The tire will look thinner, basically because it's not on the rim and "filled out". As long as you have the right size, you'll be good to go. As far as $120, I'd bet the dealerships in our area would probably charge close to that if you're talking R&R the wheels on the bike, mount and balance the tires. That's why they call them "Stealerships"... Troll is right, that's a lot more than it should be.

like i said that is the cheapest. now keep in mind im in an area where prices are inflated due to the millitary base. these places know just how much "disposable" income we have and they will milk us for it. i could get cheaper but im not sure i trust ridding that far the way that front tire looks

So my new tires came in today. now just to get into the shop to have them put on. Also should they look narrow compared to the one currently on the bike? I am assuming its due to the lack of air and weight. and yes I Know i waited just a bit to long to get tires.
