On the battery issue - with the electronic ignition, if there isn't enough voltage, there will be no spark.  I made the mistake of leaving my key on last summer, and the battery went dead.  Tried to push start myself - no go.  Got 2 of the guys to push me, tried to start - no go.  Then it occurred to me...   No voltage --> no ignition --> no spark  --> no start.    It just sucks you have to pull the seat off (and saddlebag mounts of course, if you have them) to get to the battery.   SO I put a charger connection on mine coming out of the left cover, to be able to hook up a charger if needed.  Or a tender...

I made the same mistake a little while ago.  You know what they say......sick minds think alike!

The power pack would work fine- the Drifters are all 12 volt.  There haven't been any 6V stuff for a long time.

Duh .... what was I thinking  ::) guess we all have blonde moments here and there ......

I'm guessing a power pack can be used as LONG as it's for this size battery and not a 12v system . My guess it would fry something ?

In the meantime, there is a lonely 1500 in the other corner of the garage that could use a little wind across it's headlight...........just sayin'!

Pastor dude thankfully I have this other ride she's going out today to find her baby sister a new battery .... LOL

:) Ok so thanks to our forum guru , " Mr. Troll " I'm happy to say after jumping the bike this morning she fired right up  ;)  I'll be off to see if indeed the local shops have a battery . If not I'll order one up .
I'm still going to run a fair amount of sea foam through the system to eliminate the possibility of being hummed up , just to be on the safe side .

I'm thinking my best bet would be to get MA-DEUCE in the shop so they can check the air/fuel ratio for me , as I don't have a clue on how to do so .

Thanks for all the comments and process of elimination guys its greatly appreciated , as always

Troll would a power pack work just as well as a none running car?

Sounds like a dead battery...could have opened an internal cell connector. Do you have a set of jumper cables you can connect to a NON running car?.

Drift1

No dice Troll .... both terminals are nice and tight and when I turn the key to the on position I'm getting all my lights , hit the start button and just a constant clickkkkkkkk

I will check for that Troll . That would be a blessing if that 's all it is , for sure .

Clean and tighten all battery connections. When I first got my W-650, I had a strange problem that only would show up intermittently. Sometimes it was once a day, and sometimes is once every minute. The neg. battery terminal was just ever so slightly loose. You're riding along, and the engine would not exactly miss, but it felt more like the trans had hopped out of and then back into gear. That was about 15,000 miles ago when I first bought it....Clicking noises from heavy current demand devices usually mean a loose or dirty high capacity connection.

before buying a new battery get it checked and see if that is the issue.

It was cranking before Troll , but now it's just clicking away from the ignitor . I just came in from trying it again . It's weird because yesterday everything was fine . I'm hoping it's just a battery issue , but why did it just stall out while running ?

That's the same plan I was thinking PC .

Things just got a little worse  :P Just hooked up the charger and got one click , but now it's a faint tick noise . I think the IC box ( I think it's called ) have to look that up went caput  :-[ .....

I double checked all the fuses along with the main fuse and there all good . Even replaced the main fuse to be on the safe side and nothing .

Does the engine crank?
