Do you have a multi meter to check your battery and charging system?

GPS is not to get you THERE but rather to get you home from THERE

That's the same plan I was thinking PC .

Things just got a little worse  :P Just hooked up the charger and got one click , but now it's a faint tick noise . I think the IC box ( I think it's called ) have to look that up went caput  :-[ .....

I double checked all the fuses along with the main fuse and there all good . Even replaced the main fuse to be on the safe side and nothing .

On the plus side, it doesn't sound like anything big.  Varnish could indeed cause a stuck float.  Once you get it going, I'd OD the thing on Seafoam in the fuel for a couple of tanks, just to be safe!

OK just came from the garage and so far I checked all the fuses , petcock is in working order , all fuel and vent lines in good shape and connected . My jumper wasn't charged enough but just for haha's I hooked it up to the bike and am getting crank so that's a plus . I'm waiting for a full charge from the charger before I try and jump it again .

Now that I think about it , is it possible the carb gummed up after completely draining the system ? The whole system was drained to repaint the tank , disassemble the petcock for service etc . Perhaps the float is stuck in the bowl as well , flooding the system making it harder to start ? I didn't have it on a trickle charger at all , this winter being it was mostly apart ( I know I kick myself in the rear ) and praying it's indeed , just time for a new battery  :(

;)  might not be able to help but when we were doing all the dash light things...duh.....and I was turning my key on and off and messing with the lights, I at one point had bleeped the start to get the headlight on, well late went to turn things on and bleep the starter, an nada, rein, nothing, well figured it was the battery, and so tender was hooked up and all fired to getting things sorted out and my tender went green in like 10 mins of charging.....strange....but nothing from the starter...mmmmm...dumb ass the bike is in gear and the side stand happens to be down....dauh......

ok did we prime the engine?
did we check the fuses,
did we check the kill switch,
if those are good,
check the battery for strength, but should have bump started anyway.......

Well, I know the F.I. bikes won't run without a good battery, but yours is carbed.  Charging the battery will at least get you back to square 1.

Guys I'm starting to believe MA-DEUCE doesn't like her new company in the garage  :( Here's my story and issue :

I took the 800 out of hibernation from the basement yesterday , added some fuel and she fired right up . I proceeded on a little ride to test the new brakes , listen to the added road house exhaust etc . and she run like a charm with no issues what so ever . I pulled her out the garage this morning to run down to the corner store and she died out three houses down , as I'm coasting down the hill I'm trying to restart the bike with no luck . NOW I'm at the bottom of the hill at the stop sign with a bike that just won't fire so I push her home ( the hill kicked my rump ) As I'm looking everything over I notice a small drip on the inside bottom carburetor bolt so I snug that up , fuel filter on the bottom half some sippage , fix that issue . Now all I'm getting is the click..click ...click click click as I try to fire the bike up . She's torn back apart and I'm waiting on my charger to finish charging to try and jump her . Man I hope she fires  :-\ .... Could my battery need to replaced , and why did she just die out ???? Could she be starving for fuel ?? Or does she just not like the company in the garage  ;D

The only mod I did engine wise was remove the epa crap and the marble thing .

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated .
