   lol I was going to say, but I did bottom out my rear shock on a pot hole last year, but we know the shock was worn out and a t 235 lbs. I made it bottom out......

The 800 doesn't have an air shock system...I think you need to check the clearance on the fender to seat. It shouldn't hit even at full compression

Looks like that fender has been hitting the bottom of the seat or something as well.  Might want to adjust the pressure in those air shocks!

  ok never trust a Kaw dealer in Montreal. Lucky I have a friend who will help me as needed and he is a really good mechanic. So far I have done it all myself other then the valves.

think there is a really good Kaw fixer person in your area, from a few earlier posts .......she lives really close to you.....she can help you fix it......

Looks kind of buggered up there...  It is a sad thing.  Some dealers are OK, but some are pathetic.  I sent my truck to the dealer a few years ago for warranty work - it needed head gaskets.  All the dealer did was to band-aid fix it every time, denying it needed head gasket work b/c it was a big expensive job and they didn't want to do it.  Every time they worked on it, they broke something and I had to fix it.  In the end, 9 months after this ordeal started, they never fixed the problem, saying it was now "out of warranty".  I had to fix the head gasket myself in the end.  pathatic.  Unfortunately, some bike dealers are going to be that way too.  Seems like around here, there are more bad ones that good ones.

All modern finishes are at least two part, some are 3 or more. You have a clear coat on yours I posted a link to the parts you need under your other question

You do have a point.  There are some things I just wouldn't touch myself and the tranny is one 
Speaking of paint, would there be clear coat on my 800?

Really too bad you have to clean up someone else's mess. The Kawasaki dealer here in town, where I live is top notch. I, too believe in doing it myself, as I was in the automotive industry for 44 years, as an ASE Master Tech. Some things you just can't do yourself. I had the dealer rebuild the trans on mine when I bought it (sat for 4 years, broken) for 2 very good reasons. 1, I don't have the special tools or training to do the job, and 2, it was winter, and my garage is unheated (and -20 F most of the time). Everything else I've had to do, except for paint work (expertise is invaluable) I did myself...neck bearings, springs, swing arm bearings, bevel drive bearing...stuff like that...

The Dealer also installed the seat as I said. Check out the cut trim strip to make room for bolts that were just toooo long and have a view at the rear fender where they installed the seat !

I'm a firm believer in the saying that if you want something done right, do it yourself !

As some of you know I just bought an 800 Drifter in Montreal and brought it home to Nova Scotia. From day 1 it was my intention to remove the double seat and install a single Corbin. Today I removed the bags , braces and the seat.
It wasn't a pretty sight.
I know the guy I got the bike from had the dealer install the seat and bags about 2 years ago. This year he had the dealer arrive with a trailer and take the bike to the dealership to replace the battery because it wouldn't start. I wonder what that cost him??
Look at the missing bolt on the battery cover.
