Those are really good units. If you do mods on your bike, you can download the correct map to your laptop, then plug your laptop in to the  power commander, then re-program it. At one point, I couldn't get mine to run right, so phoned the tech support, they had me hook my laptop up to the module, went in to my laptop using remote access, re-programmed the module, fixed some throttle position issues and a few other odds and ends. Took the guy about 5-10 minutes to do it all, no cost, bike runs WAY better.

You can also change the settings +- 10% (I think that is the amount) on the buttons on the module, for fine tuning.  :)

Since it was pulled from a Drifter, it should stay in the Drifter family.
I'll put it in the accessories ads this weekend.

And dependent on make and model, it may be programmable, allowing you to reprogram it with other mods to your bike; ie different pipes, air cleaners, intake, etc.

They are a pretty expensive piece. Used ones are going for $150 or more on eBay. They are family specific, like Honda, or Kaw, or Suzuki, or even H-D!

Recovering H-D owner...W-650 Cafe' No excuses...Ride it or sell it to someone who will!

My 1500 came to me with a Power Commander installed. Never had a bike with one.
As I'm putting the finishing touches on the new paint, etc. I removed it and find that I like my ride just fine without it.
Plus, given what little I do know about them, the high altitude of Denver isn't exactly optimum.

My dumb question is: Are these things bike specific? Also, is there something I should have gotten with it?
I know I don't want it.  I just am curious if it has value or is it now a somewhat dirty paperweight?
