Gotta admit..sewing is womens work..but

John.

ahhh ...but the best tailors have always been men!!  ::)

Gotta admit..sewing is womens work..but I've used up my quota of women so if I want something done I have to do it myself..I've got a few women friends that keep offering to cook and clean and stuff but in general I can manage better myself and I'm to old to train another one to live with me..

It's hard to explain that a womans place is in the kitchen unless they are cleaning or shopping..

Good work John and Ratman....could talk to Fred (aka Mike) .... he thinks sewing is a pink job.

Good for you John, growing up in a single family as a child, with only a father.......learning to sew and to use a sewing machine just seemed natural if I wanted my jeans fixed or any clothing repaired.
Bought my house and no where could I find the curtains I wanted for the living room made of the light canvas I wanted .....so borrowed a machine and made my own......

Sounds like you have a knack for it!

I bought a pair of kevlar jeans but the legs were 3" too long, I could have them shortened for £10..but I decided to buy a Pfaff sewing machine and try to do it myself, it was a gamble the machine cost £100 but if it worked it would only owe me £90..Yep it worked so I cut up an old leather jacket that I was going to throw away and made some Elephant ears for the Drifter..I reckon I have almost broken even now..I've never used a sewing machine before but it seems quite easy..

John.
