Bucko, I knew there was something I was forgetting, but I couldn't figure it out.  Thanks!

Thanks guys, guess  I should have been more specific. Was more concerned with the difference in the back end, difference between how the swingarm rear suspension, seat, etc.

Thanks, though.

The Drifter 1500 also has a single stator as opposed to a dual on the Classic, and the Drifter 1500 has a different cam grind, allowing for more low end torque.

Thanks guys, for the info. I wasn't aware that the frames were different on the 1500 and Classic. I knew the swingarm and rear suspension, seat mounting, fender and mounting, etc. were different. Thanks again.

The biggest difference I see with the 1500 and the classics are the Drifter has a different frame, fork sliders, swing arm, final drive case, rear brake mounting, and of course, state of engine tune (and injection, as opposed to carbs). I'm not real sure about frame differences with the 800, but the swing arm, rear brake/wheel assy (drum on an 800 classic)..and then the fork, apparently, too. Then there is the issue with both of them about the exhaust. I think it would be easier to convert an 800 into a Drifter than a a 1500 classic into a Drifter...A lot of the parts interchange, but not all.

There are several differences including suspension and engine internals for the 1500... I assume the same for the 800.

Guess this one is for Troll: What is the difference between an 800 Drifter and an 800 Vulcan: is it just the way the swingarm/fender/rear tire assembly and seat mount, or is there a bigger difference? Same with the 1500 Drifter and 1500 Classic?

Thanks in advance;
