I like the fill caps and knob.  Makes the bike look great.  SO, do you just have the gas cap by itself attached with velcro, or did you fab up some type of "neck" for the cap to mount to??

I've seen this on a few other bikes and it really does give a nice vintage appeal . Would you share more info on this , such as were does one find these and how exactly are they installed ? Thanks in advance for any info you may provide .

2beers picked up the caps at Pep Boys and the reserve pull is a painted knob from our old kitchen cabinets.  Stick on velcro holds them in place :-).  No secrets here lol !

Heres a couple of pics, the closeup is before the 'reserve' but you can see it on the other pic.  When he's in the garage, something is always changing....its hard to keep up with the documentation!

The white grips do look nice on there.   Tell him he'll just have to wear white gloves to keep them clean!!

Great to see the bikes coming together . Really like the white coke grips , fits the paint scheme beautifully . Nice seat as well . Glad there were no issues there 

Hubby says thanks for the compliment on the grips.  If you even look at them wrong, they show dirt  .  Maybe we should have created room to carry a bottle of vinyl cleaner??  Still have leather left over to work with!

I lived in CO Springs CO  for 4 years after living in Goose Bay Labrador for 5 years, and winter temps in Goose Bay with the wind chill was normal in the -50 to 80* C ranges but after 40* it is the same so who cares....lol.....

hate to tell you but not a fan of the long extension of the fender, I would just have your leather person make a leather skirt for it with fringe to hide the angle, or wear high heel boots.

now bumperettes might draw the eye away from that ......just sayin'........

Cold is a relative term, sorry RatMan!  Actually, it was 7 degrees one morning, and school was closed for two days because of it!!  We lived in NJ before we moved to GA.  It's surprising to us the reaction they have down here to a few snowflakes...

GREAT LOOKING upgrades you have there!!  I love that horn. - where did you get the wings/cross cover on there?  Did that come with the the horn, or was it a separate decorator piece you riveted on there??  I WANT ONE!!! 

I see what you mean about the fender angle, now.   I personally think the cardboard mod you have mocked up looks too long.  Maybe about 1/3 to 1/2 the horizontal distance and about  2/3-3/4 the length (vertical)??   That would be my vote.

Hey GB!  The horn set originally has red 'cages', he painted that one Engine Manifold Silver.  The wings came from Michael's craft store in the jewelry section.  He found the cross at Tandy Leather, it had a screw back on it that he ground off.  The four wings are separate pieces.  He JB Welded (is that really a verb?) those four pieces to the back of the cross, flat together on wax paper.  When it dried, he positioned it on the painted horn cage and VERY CAREFULLY drilled for the smallest rivets available.  The rivets had to be shortened so that they don't interfere with the horn diaphragm.  Ask him how he knows  .   Here's the other horn in its original form, mounted in the side box.

LOL, you really think my back fender idea is excessive?  Come on...   Seriously, appreciate the input.  It's a work in progress!

Looking at the pics of Blue, I didn't mention the clutch and brake wraps he made, or the updating he did on the tank bib.  I'm sure I missed something else.  He's been a busy guy

Princess fender angle issue...

Possible resolution with new mud flap creation?  Looonnnnggggggg...Better watch that curb while parking!

Part II, Princess update.  The 2" lowering went well after some delay with Scootworks.   Great part, 'nuf said.  Problem now is I don't really care for the angle of the rear fender.  I played with a cardboard mockup today to see if I could design a new set of mud flaps that would take care of that issue without heading for body work and paint.    Might have it, I'll talk to the upholsterer who is making a new cover for my seat and see what we can come up with.  Planning on a variegated tan/brown seat with cream trim, then cream mud flaps with tan/brown fringe.

Found grips that will work better with my small hands, and also found some cool ends for the grips to continue her Armed and Dangerous theme.     Hee hee...

It's been kinda cold down here in GA, so we've been spending lots of time in the garage.  Hubby's been playing with leather, and Blue is looking quite well after the addition of some home-made mud flaps, tool bag and floor board fringe.  His Singh seat arrived and was installed without drama lol.  The idea of an old Indian Feather-Face horn was intriguing to him, so he fabricated one from a pair of Hella horns he found at Pep Boys.  The other one of the pair is mounted in the right side box.  He found a used light bar from a Triumph and adapted it to fit Blue, repositioned the turn signals, and changed the indicator lenses from amber to clear.  Additional 'just for looks' fuel, oil and reserve-pull caps were added to the tanks to continue the 'old school' illusion.
