HELLO New drifter member here. Is a 2005 drifter 1500 for 4000.00
a good deal mint condition 800 miles yes 800 miles

You haven't filled out your Profile details to let us know where you live..you should do that if you need advice, then say where the bike is..

If the bike is a long distance from you and is still available then it is a scam, It works like this, the owner puts a bike like that on ebay or craigslist and it is gone very quickly if it is genuine..

these bikes are rare, they just aren't making them any more and they never will again.

It sounds too good to be true but what are the chances that you and nobody else would stumble on such a deal.

John.

Like has been said before here, you may have found either that rare nugget of gold or a pasture pie.

2) It's one of those deals like the old saying goes , " it's to good to be true . "

Yeah - make sure the seller isn't "out of state", and "getting ready to be deployed overseas and just has to get rid of his baby"....  They're everywhere!!!

In my recent searches the last 6 months, I'll bet I had no less than a dozen "good deals" turn out to be something like this.  For every one of them, I started out asking questions like "please make a list of all the defects that you know of", and "please send some more pictures with more detail".   Then it was painfully obvious when the replies came back that they were scammers.  They must catch some people though - I just read last week where a woman recently discharged from the Air Force (I think) got ripped off by a deal through Craigs where she wired money to someone supposedly selling her a car through "Ebay Motors"....    Sad.....

Tires AND tubes, fluids, etc, but find out WHY this bike wasn't ridden...could be some underlying issue. Personally, I HATE surprises.

I personally agree with all the other member comments on thoroughly giving the scoot a look about . One or two things are going on here :

1) you stumbled on this sale having " really good " luck and probably that type of guy that hits big when all others fail at the casino  8)

2) It's one of those deals like the old saying goes , " it's to good to be true . "

We all love new members to join us around here , and hope all goes well in your favor . Keep us posted and DO post pics  ;) You'll understand why  ::) :o ..... LOL

+1 on the good deal.  It would be nice to get one with so few miles.  Like everybody else says though- you'll need to either go through it yourself or pay a shop to do it.  For me this goes with any used vehicle you buy - especially one with 2 wheels.  These things are now 10-15 years old!  Yours probably has original tires, with only 800 miles.  Budget new tires for sure.

I would make sure it did not have a salvage title. I saw a 1500 for sale on line cheap, because it has a salvage title.

pcarrell

Sounds like a good deal, but why so few miles?

With that low of mileage you'll want to go through it real well before hitting the streets.  Change all fluids, inspect all rubber parts, lube cables, etc.

moosewayne

Of course that is a good deal!
Pounce, I tell you, POUNCE!!!!!
