Yes, it seems pretty harmless on the surface  but I will guarantee Indian wouldn't think so. Here's a company who is spending zillions of dollars trying to promote a new bike line and they have a salesman who is not only misleading customers, stories about him are now being circulated on an internationally known motorcycle blog followed by millions of cycle enthusiasts.  (OK maybe not millions) But let's face it this jerk did not do his company any favors.

I don't think I would trust them to honour the guarantee..

Remember warranties can have exclusions..such as tires, batteries, maybe even labor..Guarantees usually cover everything so giving a five year guarantee on a new bike including the tires and battery and bulbs as well as labor might be too expensive for a manufacturer..

Here is a classic example of a dealership out and out lying to a potential customer to try and make a sale.

A while back, I had (online) made an inquiry about the possible purchase of a new motorcycle from the Indian dealership in Calgary. Got a standard " we have received your email someone will be in contact with you shortly" reply. So, a couple of days ago, I had a message on my answering machine from the dealership, wanting me to buy a bike. The salesperson stated "on all motorcycles ordered before the end of December 2013 we will include a 5 year warranty program."

So, being the type of person who likes to see all the little duckys in a row before making a move, I looked up the warranty program for ALL new Indians: (Copy and paste from their site)

So, not really a lie, I guess, just a play on words to try to sucker someone into thinking they are getting something extra. Note to self....If buying a new Indian Motorcycle, avoid the Calgary dealership....
