I'm going to make me one of these and then enjoy some creamy nuchelles afterwords.

Nuchelle? Isn't that chocolate-hazelnut spread stuff you put on crackers???  Or something like that.... ::)

No Worries

yes that is the one, I have it saved to a file but it will not let me post it. I am thinking of that also as a winter project. Does not sound to difficult , and will add a touch of class to the bike, or make it a wee bit different.

You got a link? It looks like there are many HD tins to choose from and I don't feel like buying one of each. I looked up Nuchelle and found nothing.

try nacelle.

John.

as for the nuchelle I found how to build one from a piece of tin and it is on the other Drifter forum and not sure how to copy it over to here but it is a pretty cool mod to make over the winter.

The best part of having down time is you can take your time and do the work do it properly and even when done look at it and decide it needs to be tweeked even more. Be interesting to actually see the fork tins mounted and in place. So just remember pictures, yes PICTURES before / during / after the changes.

If you can find a front picture of this bike it has the tins and they look really good.

I'm doing the lowering springs in front and the shocks in back. I figure getting it low is not really a problem for me as I ride real slow, like in a parade slow.

DC

Are you using a lowering kit, or coming up with something yourself?

It practically is snowing here, getting down to 19 every night. My list is mostly just cosmetics, as if the Drifters not good looking enough already. I'm really stoked on those side panels but at $600 a pair they are a bit steep. I saw that fork tin fitted on a gooseberry from San Diego and it looked great. I'm stealing my ideas where I can. Lowering it can sure makes a difference in the appearance. As for the seat I'm going to cut those horns off of the back and get the more contoured single saddle and fit it in there real deep in the frame with minimal spring. The present saddle sits too high and is too flat in appearance. I didn't include my custom made leather accessories. I'll be ready for next season. I hope I still have money to ride.

Cool someone got their winter list out before me this time around, I am going to wait till my ride is in the house and the snow is falling before I make mine final, but have a box of parts I have been ordering and hoarding all summer.

Your list looks pretty good, of course pictures of before / during / and after are a must, and if you do not provide then the little guys in the black suits will show up with their baseball bats....

I got quite the list of winter mods to do.
Lower the bike
Relocate the license plate and taillight to the left side
Gun style engraving on all those empty spots on the engine.
I'm going to try another seat
Beach bars
doss teardrop spotlights
I'm going to fit some Harley fork tins
a legends side cover set
shaft drive cover with brown matching toolbag
drilled rotor from another model vn
Indian horn on the handlebars
Quite the list... Donations of these items or any kickass indian or drifter parts greatly appreciated.
