      I'm going to make a recommendation here, based on experience. I ran the Metzeler Marathons on everything I owned since about 1984, and before that, the Metzeler ME-77 Perfect. I used to have faith in Dunlop. but I learned my lesson. I put on a set of Michelin Commander IIs last August, and now they have almost 12,000 on them and show very little wear. The rear is down 3/32 and the front, 1/32. At this wear rate, they should last about 20,000...and they were CHEAPER than the Metzelers by about $100 for the set. When it comes time to replace the pair, I would definitely look into these...I never expected to say this about a Michelin....I looked 1 place, Dennis Kirk, and the current price for a matched pair in your size is $270.....

Haha no car tire.... I have metzler marathons but the rear one kinda pooped but I was gonna get a used one for now until next payday haha to buy and brand new one but it was just for the mean time...

Didn't used to matter at all, but they have become quite specialized over the years. I ran Dunlop K-291s on both ends of my E-Glide, but that was before you were born. Matched tires perform the best, but I think it would be even more important not to mix construction types, or a new tire on one end with an overly worn tire on the other..what did you have in mind...and don't say a car tire!!!!!!

Is it bad to use two different brands of tires on your bike? Is there any effect if having different threads?
