Peter, if you still want; I'll take those photos of my rack/frame? (The ones I promised AAAAGGGGEEEESSSS ago)

Pics? Why yes. I'd love to see pics. And Pete is short for Petemoss. Not Peter. Or Petermoss. Lol

Mak, nice to cyber meet you. Your Mak machine is a sweet ride.

I had 3 different types inc the Kawa F&S ones - like them but small.

Had another set which was just run of the mill and also had Ospreys in tan made to my spec's.  Loved it and because of their quality was able to sell them off at a great price too.

I am thinking of getting Ospreys again - the great thing with Dave is that you can get the bags tweaked to your liking, and he offers a repair service too.  (which for o'seas riders is probably not feasible).

Like the Lutz throw over bags - reminds me of the mail carrier bags - these should however be mounted real low on the Drifter - have a look at Olive (Deb's 800 created by Flattop).

Oh oh oh before I forget - Osprey is no longer making the (saddle bag) quick release system for the Drifter - he got a few left - so grab it while you can.

a few years ago I had a local leather shop create a set of extra large saddle bags for my Drifter 1500 ... here's their url :  http://lutzsleather.com/   I had them carve a Drifter Indian Head in the cover flap.  I am using Osprey mounts ... I did have to drill mount hole in the bags to match up with the holes in the mounting brackets.  was going to attach a photo but it seems I am having trouble with the attachment

Jmbo, I also like the way the brackets hang the bags lower than on my bike. Lower is better on a Drifter IMHO. My bags are above the fender instead of level with them.

Agree the ones in the first photo look a bit on the smaller side but these bad boys look like the could hold a thirty pack each.

That's a beauty. Sweet ride. Who's bike is that? Is it a Drifter? If so how did they install the passenger pillon? And who makes the bags?

I was on the Singh Saddlery site. They make some pretty good sized bags.. Haven't seen any prices but judging from the cost of their seats they should be pretty competitive.

Those look like Osprey bags on that bike. I had a set on my 1500 but found they didn't hold much. Nice looking, though.

I put a set of leather bags from a 1981 Harley FLH Classic on my 1500; lots of room. Had to relocate my signal lights back 5", but was worth it; lots more capacity.

I just looked at them.  You're right- they're real nice.  You might keep checking ebay for something that might look good, like used off a harley, or whatever floats your boat.

Have you seen the saddlebags on the '13 Indians? I was on the website anticipating the 2014 models Polaris has dropped the price on. Anywho, those bags are super nice. I was looking for something along those lines. But not the $2000 line. Ha. Osprey has nice bags too.

I measured the available sparse on my bike then I bought the biggest ones that I could.  Too big blocks too much visually. I ended up finding my best deal on ebay. Some day I want to make a custom set ... When I find the time.

I'm thinking larger bags would be nice to have. Mine are pretty small and fill up a little to quick. What would be a mid to high quality large capacity leather bag?
