Recent oil change

Try Kawasaki synthetic next time; you will like it. Best oil I have used in it by far; although I haven't used too many different oils. What it had when I bought it, then Kawasaki Dino oil, then the Kawasaki synthetic. First 2, little man with the hammer, every time I started it; even in mid-summer. Synthetic, the little man with the hammer moved out; haven't heard from him since. No more cold clutch drag; with dino oil it was hard to get into first gear when cold. Even in warm weather. My 2 cents worth...

I have to tell you, when I went and bought the filter at the local Kawasaki-Triumph-and-everything-else dealer, the counter man asked me what oil I was planning to use.  I told him and he said "BIG MISTAKE, you need to be using Kaw oil".  He said M1 V2 was just made-over car oil.  But who knows.  I chalked it up to him just wanting to make the sale on the Kaw synth.  I guess I learned my lesson.  I'm sure there are other good oils out there and I'm sure there are others that have had good results with the Mobil 1 . . . . . . . but I'm not 1 of them!

I don't know what oil the P.O. had in my bike, but whatever it was, it was well-suited to the engine.

I just did an oil change last weekend.  I used Mobil 1 V-Twin and a Kaw filter.  I have to say that I'm disappointed with the results.

- less torque (I really need to get into the throttle to get some acceleration going.  The low end grunt doesn't seem to be there anymore.)
- rear cylinder has less compression (at least as felt at the exhaust pipe)
- toned down exhaust note
- missing shifts (numerous times)
- popping out of 1st and going into Neutral when stopped (happened twice)
- the high idle knob doesn't yield the same high idle speed.  It slower.

I used a heavier weight oil, due to riding in hot temps.   I made sure this was the Mobile 1 for bikes and also wet clutches.  I'm pretty much ready to change the oil again, as I really don't like the performance.

I also checked and cleaned the screen.  Glad I did, since there was some stuff on it.  It mostly looks like bits of grey rubber gasket material and a little bit of sludge. There were some other particles, but none that appeared to be metal.  There were also some gold plastic-looking flakes.  I did take pics of the screen before cleaning, as well as the stuff left in the drain pan, but I can't figger out how to get the pics off this new fangled phone yet.

The oil was filled to the proper level, as I had the bike leveled on my HF Lift, which I was going be doing a review on, but I can't figger out how to get the pics off this new fangled phone yet.

The little man with the hammer is still there, but the tone of his hammer has changed.

In short, my engine just does not like this new sauce.
